Empire Avenue

I got an invite to Empire Avenue, from my friend Brittney. From what I can tell, it measures your "worth" by how much you participate in social networking. If you blog, tweet or facebook, your "worth" increases! What I really love about it, is it's based out of Edmonton...definitely wanted to hop on to this while it's still fresh. Maybe I'll dominate it. Haha. Bare with me as I go through the site...I'll be blogging more now, I think :) If anyone else is already on Empire Avenue please, endorse this blog AND buy some damn shares!

The Hills Season Finale

Tonight, I decided to watch the season premiere of The Hills. This season is the last season ever. So they say. nine minutes in, we see Heidi's new face. Watching her cry....was painful. Holy smokes. Her face just...doesn't move anymore....

Yowza! LOOK AT HER FACE! EEEEK!

I'm sorry. I don't know the girl from a hole in the wall. I know she's a real person somewhere in Hollywood...but if by some meager chance she ever reads this blog....Heidi, I wish you would have left your nose alone. Nose jobs are sooo....easily eff'd up. And I think you were beautiful before. A little spacey, but hey, not perfect.

So Lo, Audrina and Stephanie think Kristin is on crack. Hmm...I haven't been up on my celebrity gossip enough to know better...

I think this season is going to be intense...I gotta watch it though. I watched all the seasons of Laguna Beach...and MOST of the Hills seasons...gotta wrap it up you know? Are you watching it? What reality shows are you into? I'd love to hear it!

Have You Ever Googled Yourself?

Recently, I received a message from someone I know from years ago, who told me he googled me. I haven't talked to him in YEARS. Weird hey? So he googled me, and found out that I work at Big Country 93.1, my twitter account, and this blog.

I was telling another friend about it, and he googled me, and added to the list that I was born and raised (essentially) in Leduc, Alberta.

Oh the internet. At least there's no "hate pages" or anything...yet.

What do you find when you google yourself? I'd love to hear/read it!

Popping the Laundromat Cherry

So I went to the laundromat for the first time the other day. I felt so dumb. I've never used one before. I didn't know the difference between the dryers and the washers!

How dumb is that?? I eventually figured it out, but man I felt dumb. I also felt my wallet being raped. $6/load to wash. $0.25/4 min of dryer time. 

Ridonk. Purely ridonk. However, I do not cast my anger at the laundromat. No, no. I cast my anger towards the sonofagun who brought the bed bugs in! We think we know who it is, but we can't be 100% certain! All I wanna do is submit my receipts to them. And thank them for inconveniencing my life! The packing continues...I've now added a step - Lysol. Apparently it kills them. I doubt it's true cuz I read it on the intarwebz, but it helps me sleep at night.
What a pain. 

As I sit in my car, typing this out....waiting in the carwash line, listening to BNL's "If I Had $1,000,000" I keep thinking to myself...I'd buy a house. And my own drive-thru car wash.

Don't Let The Bed Bugs Bite....

I have to move again. Since coming to GP, I've moved 3 times. And now it's going to a fourth in less than a year. Why am I moving, do you ask? Two words. Two horrendous words that come with so much work, stress and anger I can barely spit them out. Type them out. Whatever.

BED BUGS!!!

Our apartment has been infested with bed bugs. We learned this when we got home...which was a nice present to kick off the long weekend. You know who doesn't work long weekends? Property Management staff. We checked our beds, and other parts of the apartment...so far WE haven't been infested, however, someone we know has. Scary stuff!

Has anyone ever dealt with this before? We haven't and feel SO lost...especially since we have no one to ask questions! And Monday is far away!

Can we ask the property management company (who will remain nameless) to pay for our laundromat/dry-cleaning expenses?

So lost. AND can't wait to move. Normally I wouldn't use this blog for my own advantage, but if anyone has or knows of a nice, 2 bedroom apartment or condo for rent with in-suite laundry, for under $900 a month, PLEASE comment and let me know! I'd hate to have to sleep on Big Jim's floor... *shudder*

Here Comes Peter Cottontail...

Easter is just around the corner...and it's typically one of my favorite holidays. Because following Easter - or ON Easter, depending on the placement - is my birthday! 

Birthdays are a big deal to me. It's that one day that everyone has to think about you. Call me selfish, call me egotistical, but hey, I like being on your mind. That's why I'm in radio.

This year, I turn 25. Perhaps I'll reflect more closer to the date...but I have to say... I didn't accomplish everything I wanted to by now. That doesn't necessarily mean I regret my life choices, but man...what have I done?

Maybe I'm being too hard on myself. I can't help it though. The giant wrinkle on my forehead is a constant reminder of my age.
